He entered the US Army on October 4, 1943.
In Europe during WW ll, he was with the ground troops for General Payton’s tank division.
They arrived in Liverpool, England on June 29,1944. The Allies invaded Europe on June 6, 1944.
He landed on Normandy’s Utah Beach on September 4, 1944.
VE day was on May 7, 1945. He stayed in Germany and France until April 20, 1946.
He arrived back in the United States on April 29, 1946.
He was award a Bronze Star, a European campaign metal and a WW ll ribbon for his service.
